DX-Ventures are the trips that contesters make to some location away from their home QTH, usually to another country, to operate in one of the major contests. In the DX world, these are usually referred to as DXpeditions, but since adventure is usually involved with contesting from a foreign QTH, the NCJ refers to these expeditions as DX-Ventures.
To aid contesters planning foreign trips and to give those who stay at home a vicarious experience, the National Contest Journal publishes several columns and frequent stories about contesting away from the home QTH.
Bill Feidt, NG3K, maintains a regularly updated published list of DXpeditions planned for major contests. This is a great tool to see what other contesters may be planning for the contest season, or to determine the chances of working a DX-Venture to a rare contest multiplier. Although this list is published bimonthly in the NCJ in his DX Contest Activity Announcements column, the web site version is continually updated by NG3K as additional information becomes available. Check it out!
