Brazil out of World Cup
Posted: Jul 1, 2006 15:24 PDT

It was disappointing to watch Brazil be eliminated from the World Cup. One of the side stories leading up to WRTC has been the possibility of watching Brazil move through to the finals and provide a grand spectacle for Sunday afternoon following the contest. We all wanted to see what true Brazilian football fever looked like!

I had another reason to want them to go through. During a recent trip to Europe, I got to sit at a sidewalk cafe in Frankfurt as Germany beat Poland. The match had an exciting ending and car horns could be heard for two hours after it was over.

The next evening, I was in London and visited a local pub to watch England win with some last minute heroics. Had hoped Brazil would be my third "in country" match watching.

The good news, if you can call it that, is that now our hosts can focus on enjoying WRTC without the danger of football fever bringing the country to a halt! :)

Though living about 45 km from Paris with no large city in the area, it was a bit noisy on saturday night here !

Hope the football fever will be down, especially against F competitor at WRTC. We will see at PY immigration on wednesay AM.
